Weeding was the order of the day on Sunday along with assignments of course! I weeded the whole of our bank in our backyard. After all the rain and lack of mowing the weeds had kind of taken over. It was perfect timing as it had just rained for the last couple of days so most of the weeds slid out roots and all with out too much digging. It think I pulled about a thousand weeds. Andrew did a similar thing in the front yard but he had to contend with the the ants nest which has taken up a large portion of the front lawn. After an hour of weeding A mowed and our house now looks like somebody cares about it! All in time for Georgina's first birthday and the neighbourly BBQ.
This photo is a partial shot of our backyard with full views of the "Lion Inn". That is where our cats sleep at night and sometimes during the day.
This is what takes up most of our spare time at the moment. There is no fun in the Mowbray household, only assignments. Andrew is well into his semster and the assignments are due thick and fast. I am his right hand woman searching for journal articles, reading up on material and arguing with A about how he should structure the assignment. Despite the slog, we are quite enjoying the assignment we are doing. It is about the national security architecture of Australia and other countires. I have not read so many government white papers in my life but I now have newly gained knowledge on this most interesting topic. Do you know the main focus behind Australia's national security framework?
I bought these pyjamas as an extra layer when we went to Goulburn for our weekend farmstay. In the end Georgina didn't need to wear them but we got then out the other day to start wearing them to bed. She looks quite the little girl in normal pyjamas.
Before Georgina was born she was given this lovely knitted Dolly by a lady from church. It has become one of her favourites. She has had a busy time checking out all the details on the doll and she likes to carry it around with her. It's quite an amazing doll in that it is completely knitted and is two dolls in one.
Nan comes to stay every week and we all look forward to it! On this particular Sunday Georgina decided to help Nan unpack her bag. She was very keen to see all the things she had inside her bag!
Fida and Emmanuel put on a wonderful party on Saturday night August the 18th. Their beautiful back garden was decked out with fairy lights and flame poles. They had chairs and tables with candles on them spread throughout the backyard. The food was all set out on tables in the courtyard with little flames warmers keeping the food hot! They invited us around for three special reasons! Fida's 39th birthday! Fida's Father was going home after a three month stay in Australia and Bobby and Chantel announced their engagement. They are planning to marry at the end of next year! We had a fabulous night chatting to Arnold (Fida's Father), Michael and Magdelina. Harry also had a good evening mingling with the crowds. On the way, out everyone had to have their photo taken with their family by an offical photographer. It will be interesting to see how they turn out! We headed home at 8 o'clock, rather early, but Georgina didn't get to bed until 9.45 after the long drive home.
Some of the Mothers from my school got together for lunch on Friday! We all had a lovely chat and the babies had a play! Georgina and Alannah, who are only two weeks apart in age, got into mischief together!
Mum kept me very busy on Thursday. I had to sort the washing and throw it on the floor. Take a long and leisurely nap, read some books, watch Furgus through the window, play with the dishwasher and snuggle on my pillow! Mum Mum works me hard!
